Training
The federal government is developing and updating training requirements. The NSPM-33 working group will monitor and help implement these requirements. For example, revisions to the certification for Responsible and Ethical Conduct of Research (RECR) for proposals submitted on or after July 31, 2023, expand the training to faculty and other senior personnel and require specific training mandated by America COMPETES Act, as amended.
Many different university activities involve export controls or international compliance. Export control regulations impact certain equipment, technical data, substances; international shipments; and what you take with you or access when you travel abroad. Northwestern offers multiple training options through a third-party vendor to learn more about how export controls impact your university activities.
